Starbucks slams film Black Gold as "innaccurate"

Starbucks have responded to the film Black Gold, which premieres in the UK today, by claiming it gives an innaccurate picture. They claim "Starbucks takes an integrated approach to coffee purchasing."
A Starbucks employee has leaked a statement from the Vice-President of Operations, on the forum of the BLACK GOLD MOVIE website, which tells employees that Black Gold is "inaccurate" and "incomplete." A similar statement has been sent out to the media.
Black Gold is the first feature-documentary to expose how the 80-billion-dollar global coffee industry reaps the spoils of overpriced lattes and cappuccinos while impoverished Ethiopian coffee growers suffer the bitter taste of injustice.October 20, 2006, 2 days, 8 hours and 56 minutes ago.

Starbucks also declined a number of invitations by the BBC to be interviewed on air with the filmmakers of Black Gold this week.
Black Gold premieres in the UK at the London Film Festival this evening. The film opened in US cinemas on October 6th.
